Shop Savvy Most Popular Android App , Or Is It

Apparently real statistics for how many Android apps were downloaded with the launch of the T-Mobile G1 Phone. The Android Market is one place to get apps and apparently Shop Savvy was the early leader for number of times being downloaded, although statistics are somewhat unclear., according to Medialets. ”

During the first 24 hours of Android Market, 62 apps were available to consumers, all free.  This is less than 10% of the number of apps we saw at the launch of Apple’s App Store. Although Apple allowed both free and paid applications to be distributed when the App Store launched, paid downloads for Android will not be available until Q1 2009.” That goes for the rest of the marketing thus far for the G1 Phone, although I actually did see one commercial during the World Series last night produced by T-Mobile. Here is a quick look at the Shop Savvy App, as reviewed by AnroidApps

T-Mobile G1 Phone Launch Without Hoopla

T Mobile has the G1 Android Google Phone available and was launched Oct 22 as promised. The first day sales revenue from the G1 wasn’t exactly a record setter, and here may be part of the problem with T-Mobile as a service provider. Where s the hoopla? Where is the promotion?
As I watched the World Series last night The Apple iPhone advertisements were fast, frequent and frankly effective. I don’t claim to be an advertising wizard, but it seems to me T-Mobile might promote the G1 Android a little better than it has.

The Google Android operating system promises to be revolutionary and offer consumers Google apps and more options than any other product on the market. So why haven’t the consumer been told that?

Our thinking is the G1 Google Phone launch was more of a soft opening and there is much more to follow

T-Mobile Begins Selling The G1 Phone From Google

T-Mobile stated selling the Google Phone featuring the Android operating system from Google, the open-source software applications that customers can download to their phones.
The new phones have a high list price of 400.00 but T-Mobile is adding a $220 discount to sell the phones on its website for $180, with extra charges for service plans and T-Mobile G1 messaging plans.
Now for the downside T-Mobile said the 3G mobile phone service, required to obtain the use of the Google services, is currently available in only 95 U.S. cities. I would expect that to change rather quickly and I would expect more cities to be avaible for service by Thanksgiving. T-Mobile Service plans will offer consumers many options
